Originally scheduled for release early in 2021, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed. While no real release date has been announced for the game, Ubisoft stated during its annaul earnings call that the game was planned to release before March 31, 2022.
The Sands of Time Remake was delayed because of the negative reaction the trailer received.
Since the delay, Ubisoft India has seen a change in leadership. Syed Abbas, who has worked with ubisoft India since the Pune studio opened up in 2008, was promoted to the position of managing director in Ubisoft India. When the Sands of Time Remake was originally revealed, Abbas had stated that in an interview that the studio wasn’t facing budgetary or timeline constraints.
“No it was not a problem of timeline or budget,” Abbas told The Mako Reactor last year. “For us at Ubisoft quality is of the utmost importance and this is something that we have kept in mind from the start. The project has been in development for the last two and a half years.”
