As always it starts at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT.
It airs on NBC, which is on Sling.
We’re staying up to watch SNL online tonight to see Regina King make her debut on the series. It’s been a good and busy time for Ms. King, whose directorial debut One Night in Miami (which is drumming up awards season buzz) just arrived in December.
As for what Ms. King will satirize, there’s a chance SNL might merge the politically-charged Watchmen HBO series she starred in with current events. She’s joined by Nathaniel Rateliff, a singer/song-writer whose style is a cross between R&B and Americana.
Ms. King follows a pair of successful first time hosts: John Krasinski and Dan Levy.
As was the case last week, this SNL episode is scheduled to be performed in front of the show’s traditional live studio audience at Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center.
Previous episodes were performed remotely due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and the production is continuing to follow to safety regulations, including a reduced capacity and face mask wearing.
