PUBG aka Battlegrounds Mobile India India release date has been teased yet again. This time, known insider and content creator for esports organisation Galaxy Racer Sagar ‘Maxtern’ Thakur has hinted a possible June 18 launch. Thakur took to Twitter putting out a tweet in binary that translates to 18062021 which is possibly indicative of a June 18, 2021 release.

This follows Team Solomid coach and content creator Abhijeet Andhare aka Ghatak, the Battlegrounds Mobile India teasing a third week of June date on Twitter as well.
These tweets from Maxtern and Ghatak are in line with IGN India has previously reported. Industry sources on condition of anonymity speaking to us claimed that the Battlegrounds Mobile India release date is June 18.
When you take into account how most big publishers tend to roll out their games, this would make sense. Reason being, June 18 would be a month after pre-registrations went live. Also keep in mind that Krafton usually updates its games on Tuesdays, further backing up these claims.
If you’re wondering why Krafton doesn’t confirm or deny these claims, it’s because the company prefers to spread information indirectly via third-parties such as content creators or members of the esports fraternity.
It gives the firm plausible deniability in the event something goes awry all while maintaining some level of control over the messaging that its emissaries tend to use. Evidence of this has reared its ugly head what with it strong-arming content creators to not use the term ‘PUBG Mobile’ when talking about the game.
That said, it is unknown if Krafton’s ongoing silence on Battlegrounds Mobile India racism or recent calls for a ban by MLA Ninong Ering could impact this.
It is also unknown if Google or Apple would deny the game a release. Sources tell IGN India that both companies are reluctant to approve a release of Battlegrounds Mobile India following the controversies that have arisen after its reveal.
Considering Krafton is more than happy to play by Google’s rules implies that there won’t be much in the way of stalling any potential Battlegrounds Mobile India launch.
IGN India reached out to Apple and Google for comment nearly four weeks ago regarding the approval of Battlegrounds Mobile India and will update this story if we hear from either company.
