In the run up to the official Battlefield 2042 reveal from EA, the game’s key art and screenshots have leaked courtesy the company’s PC digital distribution platform Origin via Reddit. As you can tell, it’s in line with past entries in the series and seems to have a near future setting not too dissimilar to Battlefield 3 and 4. You can check out the Battlefield 2042 screenshots and key art right here.
Along with this, details regarding the game’s setting have been leaked too. Battlefield 2042 has the US and Russia on the brink of war “generating experienced but displaced combat veterans. These Specialists use their skills to shape the future — a future worth fighting for.”
Battlefield 2042 will have seven maps for up to 128 players including locales like Seoul and Egypt. Weapons, vehicle, and gadgets customisation has been touted along with the ability to summon a robot dog, use a wingsuit, or a grappling hook. The Origin info dump also includes information regarding the Specialist system as follows:
“Choose your role on the battlefield and form hand-tailored squads through the new Specialist system. Based on Battlefield’s four Classes, Specialists have one unique Specialty and Trait – but the rest of the loadout is fully customisable.”
